When
thinking about dream collaborations within the film industry, it’s hard to not
be excited about the collaboration reported by Deadline
yesterday that is reporting that Meryl Streep and JJ Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Lost) will
be working together. The project is a TV adaptation titled The Nix, an adaptation of Nathan Hill’s recent novel.
Seeing
Streep team up with the recent helmer of the new Star Wars trilogy is absolute massive news, regardless of the
project. The novel has an interesting premise, one that follows a college
professor who has a spirit that is someone you love that one day disappears,
taking with it a piece of your heart. In this case, that spirit is his mother
Faye, who will be played by Streep.
Streep
was last seen in Florence Foster Jenkins
in which she’s gotten rave reviews which is no surprise given that the actress
is a 19-time Academy Award nominated actress with 3 wins as well. Abrams has
had his hands full plenty of projects through his production company, Bad Robot
which will head this production as well.
How
do you guys feel about a TV series led by Meryl Streep and produced by JJ
Abrams? Comment below and have your voice be heard!
