When
there was news that Jumanji was being
remade, especially after the death of its star of the original 1995 film, Robin
Williams, I thought it was an awful idea. But yesterday, we were given a first
look photo of the cast on Instagram thanks to one of the stars of the film,
Dwayne Johnson. I have to say, the film looks like it could be a ton of fun
based on this picture.
The
film is set to be directed by Jake Kasdan (Walk
Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, Bad
Teacher) which has been in the works at Sony even before Williams’ passing.
In the first look image for the movie, we see the main cast decked out in their
finest jungle garments. Along with Johnson, he’s joined by his recent team-up
buddy, Kevin Hart as well as Karen Gillan and Jack Black. Production for the
film has just begun in Hawaii and it does appear that the main events of this
iteration will take place within the board game.
Jumanji will be released in theaters on
July 28th, 2017. Check out the first look image above!
