Drake Doremus has quickly become one of the most interesting and innovative filmmakers due to his different take on romance and human relationships. He impressed many with his 2011 romance film Like Crazy that starred Felicity Jones, Jennifer Lawrence and the late, great Anton Yelchin. Just last year, he released a sci-fi love story that starred Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult titled Equals and now it seems that we have a synopsis for his upcoming project, Zoe.

The synopsis is as follows: Zoe follows two colleagues at a revolutionary research lab who design technology to improve and perfect romantic relationships. As their work progresses, their discoveries become more profound than they could ever have imagined.

This plot sounds right up Doremus’ alley and features some great talent involved as well. The two colleagues are set to be played by Charlie Hunnam and Lea Seydoux respectively. Hunnam is best known for his starring roles in Pacific Rim and the hit series on FX, Sons of Anarchy but has a busy 2017 ahead of him. He stars in the acclaimed drama, The Lost City of Z and will star in Guy Ritchie’s next film, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. Seydoux, who is best known for her role in Blue is the Warmest Color has made a hell of a transition to American movies as she has already worked with Wes Anderson and Sam Mendes.

Zoe is set to begin shooting in April and has yet to receive a release date but we expect it to hit theaters in late 2017.
