Though
it’s very early within Oscar season, it’s important to note that former Academy
Award winner, Natalie Portman is set to be a frontrunner in the film, Jackie. Today, Fox Searchlight released
the first trailer which showcases Portman in the lead titular role portraying
Jackie Kennedy.
Jackie chronicles the hours and days in
the wake of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination and Jackie struggles
through her grief and works to solidify her husband’s legacy in a presidency
cut way too short. The film according to many is similar to a portrait with its
introspective direction from Pablo Larrain setting it apart from conventional
biopics.
