It
seems that Peter Berg and Mark Wahlberg have become a frequent pairing as the
director/actor combo have worked on Lone
Survivor and Deepwater Horizon
together. Now, we have the first trailer for their upcoming collaboration Patriots Day.
Patriots Day relives the events
surrounding the terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon only three years ago.
Though the trailer doesn’t dig too much into the story, it is an incredibly
dramatic and somber trailer that stars Wahlberg as a police officer working the
event. In addition to this, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are composing the
score. This is massive because it’s only the award winning team’s fifth feature
film that they’re scoring, as they won the Academy Award for Best Original
Score for The Social Network. Their
rendition of “America, the Beautiful” works wonderfully in the trailer.
Along
with Wahlberg, the film stars Michelle Monaghan, John Goodman, Kevin Bacon,
J.K. Simmons and Alex Wolff. Patriots Day
opens everywhere January 13th, 2017. Check out the first trailer
below!
