A
film that has flown under the radar since its release is the R-rated adaptation
of Dredd that starred Karl Urban back
in 2012. Since then, there have been rumblings of a television series being
developed and according to an interview with TrekMovie,
Urban may return for the show.
“I am
in discussions with them about that. I told them that if they write the
material and give Dredd something to do and give him a function, I will be
there. I would love to.” It sounds like Urban is more than interested in
returning to a fan-favorite role as long as the script is right which is more than
respectable. The show, titled Judge
Dredd: Mega City One isn’t set up at a network yet as it was just announced
back in May that the show was being developed.
Hopefully,
we get more news going forward about Judge
Dredd: Mega City One and if Urban will return to the titular role. In the
meantime, Urban has a massive project coming up as he’ll play Skurge in the
upcoming Marvel tentpole, Thor: Ragnarok.
