With Game of Thrones rapidly approaching its
end, HBO needs another dramatic hit on their hands. Vinyl was a tragic misfire, The
Leftovers just ended, True Detective
is in a hiatus period (but shooting soon with Mahershala Ali) and Westworld’s second season won’t hit the
premium service until 2018. Luckily for them, David Simon and George Pelecanos,
the creators of one of the greatest television series of all time, The Wire, have another show set to debut
on September 10th titled The Deuce and we have the new trailer for
you guys.
The
show covers the legalization and rise of the porn industry from the early 1970s
through the mid-80s. Based on the trailer, it looks like it has tons of
potential to be the next big time HBO hit. Backed by some fantastic showrunners
and acting talent, the dramatic slate of HBO could be saved thanks to Simon and
Pelecanos. It very much resembles the style of The Wire and we expect it to be critically acclaimed.

Lawrence Gillard Jr., Dominique Fishback, Emily Meade, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Chris
Bauer, Chris Coy, Natalie Paul and Michael Rispoli. The Deuce premiers on Sunday, September 10th.
