The legendary late-night talk show host David Letterman is returning to television…sort of. According to The Tracking Board, Letterman will have a new talk show series that will air on Netflix in 2018.

For anyone who was a fan of Letterman hosting the Late Show for 22 seasons, this is incredible news. I’m not a huge fan of Letterman but he’s reached an iconic status for his longevity and relevancy in late night television so this should do very well on the streaming giant. The show will feature longer in-depth interviews as well as work outside the studio to venture onto other topics that interest him in life. The show is currently set for six hour-long episodes.

This is the second weekly talk show that Netflix will house on their network next to Chelsea Handler’s show. This is yet another massive get for the streaming service who continues to acquire talented people to deals like Dave Chappelle, Louis CK and Jerry Seinfeld.

What do you guys think about David Letterman coming out of retirement for a deal with Netflix? Who would you like to see in these long-form interviews? Sound off in the comments!
