While Netflix continues to bring in new projects for both television and film, Amazon is not far behind with their content building as well. One of their awesome new shows being developed currently is The Romanoffs, the latest from Mad Men creator, Matthew Weiner. The cast is being built quickly with another big name being added to those who have already hopped on board. According to The Tracking Board, Aaron Eckhart has been added to the cast of the Amazon drama.

I believe that Eckhart is one of the most underrated actors in the industry and think that a collaboration between him and Weiner is a match made in heaven. I think he would’ve worked great on Mad Men as well so I think this is perfect casting. The Romanoffs will be an anthology series that centers around people in contemporary times who believe that they are modern day descendants of the royal family that ruled Russia from 1613-1917.

Eckhart has nothing in the pipeline for 2017 but had a pretty big 2016 starring in Sully, Incarnate, Bleed for This and London Has Fallen. Eckhart joins John Slattery, Christina Hendricks, Jack Huston, Amanda Peet, Mathe Keller and former Oscar-nominee, Isabelle Huppert in the Amazon series that should air in 2018.
