Two
actors who have blockbuster comic-book flicks due out in the next 3 months will
be teaming for a thriller from Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods). According to the Tracking
Board, Chris Hemsworth and Jeff Bridges will star in Bad Times at the El Royale. The report also notes that Cailee
Spaeny is in talks for another role within the film.
The
movie is an ensemble-led movie that takes place in a broken down, shady motel
near Lake Tahoe. The film is set in the 60s and we can confirm that Bridges will
play a priest who is suffering through unfortunate times named Father Daniel
Flynn. The cast will also include a vacuum cleaner salesman, two female
criminals, a male cult leader, a desk clerk and an African-American singer.
As
far as the latter character, Beyonce Knowles is said to have been courted for
the role while Tom Holland, best known as playing the titular character in Spider-Man: Homecoming has passed on the
project. Goddard will direct, produce and write the film which is expected to
begin shooting in January.
Bridges
is coming off of the indie film, The Only
Living Boy in New York and can be seen next month in Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Hemsworth will be seen reprising his
role as the god of thunder, Thor in Thor:
Ragnarok which hits theaters in November.
