Sean Baker had an ambitious low budget indie flick back in 2015 titled Tangerine that put him on the map. Filmed on iPhone 5s, the movie showcased his storytelling abilities and put him on the map for bigger projects going forward. His second feature, The Florida Project which debuted back in May at the Cannes Film Festival just received its first trailer and we have that for you here below!

The Florida Project tells the story of a six-year old girl named Moonee, who lives with her mother in a week to week motel run by an older man who’s committed to seeing the best for both of them. This is one of my favorite trailers of the year thus far, not only for the terrific realistic story but also the glorious cinematography and colors of the Miami landscape. It looks like it could be a truly moving film led by Willem Dafoe anchoring a cast of relative unknowns including breakout performances from Brooklynn Prince and Bria Vinaite.

Check out the trailer below for The Florida Project! The film stars Brooklynn Prince, Bria Vinaite, Willem Dafoe, Valeria Cotto, Christopher Rivera, Caleb Landry Jones, Macon Blair, Karen Karagulian and Sandy Kane. The Florida Project hits theaters on October 6th.
