Yesterday,
the teaser for Molly’s Game was
released and now, the full-length trailer can be seen below for a movie that I
am HIGHLY anticipating. The movie, starring Jessica Chastain could be her
ticket to an Academy Award and could see yet another writing Oscar for
screenwriter (and now first-time director) Aaron Sorkin.
Chastain
plays Molly Bloom, an Olympic-class skier who ran an exclusive high-stakes
poker game for over a decade before being arrested by FBI agents. The movie isn’t
directly based on the book of the same name as we see Idris Elba’s character
holding the book in the trailer. Yet, it seems he’s going for a less
conventional approach with this adaptation by chronicling Bloom’s life, before,
during and after the celebrity-driven poker games. I’m incredibly excited for
this as Sorkin is my favorite screenwriter of all-time, mostly because his
incredible work on The Newsroom, The West
Wing and my favorite movie of all-time, The
Social Network. He was actually set to direct that film if David Fincher
passed and was given permission by the director to shoot a scene on the last
day of production.
Check
out the trailer below for Molly’s Game!
The film stars Jessica Chastain, Kevin Costner, Idris Elba, Michael Cera, Jeremy
Strong, Chris O’Dowd and Bill Camp. Molly’s
Game hits theaters on November 22nd.
