Alex
Ross Perry has become one of the most consistent indie filmmakers currently and
his new film has lined up quite the cast. According to The Playlist, Perry’s
next film, “Her Smell” will reunite him with Elisabeth Moss, who starred in “Listen
Up Philip” and “Queen of Earth” which he also directed.
In
the film, Moss plays an aging punk rock singer named Becky who pushes her
friends, family and bandmates to the limit as she battles sobriety and attempts
to find that creative spark that led to her band’s success. The report also
states that Cara Delevingne, Dan Stevens, Eric Stoltz, Virginia Madsen, Amber
Heard and Ashley Benson will also star.
Moss
is best known for her Emmy-winning role on Hulu’s, “The Handmaid’s Tale” but
has other intriguing projects on the horizon such as David Lowery’s crime film,
“Old Man and the Gun” and the adaptation of the graphic novel, “The Kitchen”
with Tiffany Haddish and Melissa McCarthy. Delevingne was seen most recently in
Luc Besson’s “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets” and played
Enchantress in “Suicide Squad.” Heard will have her first foray in a comic book
film in December as she stars alongside Jason Momoa in “Aquaman.” Dan Stevens
stars in FX series, “Legion” and last year played the Beast in the live-action
Disney film, “Beauty and the Beast.”
There’s
no word yet on a release date for “Her Smell.” How do you guys feel about this
project? Are you excited for another collaboration with Moss and Perry?
