Netflix has seemingly hit the jackpot as they further entrench themselves within the sports realm. Deadline is reporting that the streaming service will stream its first season of the NFL-centric series Quarterback following recent Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes along with Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins and Atlanta Falcons signal caller Marcus Mariota.

The series is produced by Peyton Manning's Omaha Productions, 2PM Productions and NFL Films in association with Netflix in a docuseries that will follow the three quarterbacks throughout their respective seasons for the 2022-23 season. It just so happens that the streamer fell into luck with Mahomes leading his Kansas City Chiefs to a Super Bowl victory earlier this month. The series will also seemingly follow his rise to winning the league and Super Bowl MVP awards for this past year. Kirk Cousins will also be a subject of the series following his division win of the NFC North and completing the biggest comeback in league history. Marcus Mariota's story will center around his first season as QB for his new team, the Atlanta Falcons.

Quarterback is the latest in a recent string of documentary series from Netflix to put their stamp on exclusive access within the sports world. Behind Formula 1: Drive to Survive, tennis-based Break Point and recent golf docuseries, Full Swing, they are taking their shot with Quarterback which is sure to do great numbers for the streamer. The unparalleled access of Quarterback will put fans in the huddles along with teammates as well as in their respective homes with their families from the beginning of the season to the end.

The series is set to begin streaming this Summer and though it was only officially greenlit for one season, many could speculate on the series being incredibly popular for both Netflix and the NFL with future installments following a new trio of QBs season-to-season.
