Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Stephanie Hsu Join 'The Fall Guy'

The Fall Guy is starting to assemble its supporting cast as news comes from a pair of exclusives from The Hollywood Reporter that Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Stephanie Hsu have joined the cast alongside Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. The Fall Guy is a new feature film take on an 80s adventure television series of the same name that starred Lee Majors.

This version of the story is altered a bit from the original show, however, as Gosling will star as a Hollywood stuntman who is past his prime and is back to double for an actor that replaced him in the spotlight long ago. However, this time, the star has gone missing. Emily Blunt will play a prosthetic makeup artist that formerly had a romance with Gosling's character.

Hsu will be playing the assistant to Gosling, while Taylor-Johnson will be playing the star that Gosling is doubling for. David Leitch, who previously collaborated with Aaron Taylor-Johnson in this year's, Bullet Train, will be directing the film. Leitch started his own career in film and television as a stuntman himself, so his involvement within this project is particularly intriguing as he'll be able to pull from personal experiences that he's had on sets putting his life on the line for entertainment.

Stephanie Hsu has been garnering Oscar buzz for her supporting role in this year's Everything Everywhere All at Once. Her role in the original multiverse-spanning film has led to castings across the industry for films and television. Hsu will soon appear in Rian Johnson's mystery series, Poker Face on Peacock and also has a role working alongside Michelle Yeoh again, in the Disney+ series, American Born Chinese. Both series will debut in 2023.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson is best known for his role as Quicksilver in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but is set to star as another comic book character, in Sony's, Kraven the Hunter. Taylor-Johnson will play the titular Spider-Man villain as the studio continues to build out it's universe of Spider-Man characters akin to that of other movies such as Venom and Morbius. Kraven the Hunter is in theaters on October 6th, 2023.
