Angelina Jolie & Halle Berry to go Head-to-Head for Action Thriller 'Maude v Maude'

    Two of the biggest female stars and Oscar-winners are going head-to-head. According to an exclusive from Deadline, Angelina Jolie (Girl, Interrupted, Maleficent) and Halle Berry (Die Another Day, Monster's Ball) will face off in the action thriller, Maude v Maude for Warner Bros.

    Plot details are currently unknown for Maude v Maude, however, the flick is being described as a globe-trotting action thriller spanning multiple locations. It's being billed as a female driven "Bond vs. Bourne" type of film, and due to both of these actresses' extensive action resumes, it seems to be the perfect vehicle to see them go against one another. Roseanne Liang (Shadow in the Cloud) is due to direct from a script from Scott Mosier (Clerks, Chasing Amy). 

    Despite their careers both being over three decades and starring in a number of action vehicles, Jolie and Berry have surprisingly never worked together. Jolie starred as the titular character in Salt, was the original on-screen Lara Croft and starred alongside ex-husband Brad Pitt in Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Berry was one of the leads in the X-Men films as Storm, whole also appearing in the Bond film, Die Another Day and more recently starring in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum.

    Jolie recently joined the MCU as Thena in Eternals and will next star in the biopic, Maria about the opera singer Maria Callas for Pablo Larrain. She also was directed by Taylor Sheridan in Those Who Wish Me Dead opposite Nicholas Hoult and Jon Bernthal. 

    Berry starred in Moonfall in 2022 and has multiple projects in several stages of production. She's currently filming Never Let Go from Crawl director Alexandre Aja. She'll also appear in the film Our Man from Jersey with Mark Wahlberg and J.K. Simmons and will lead Netflix sci-fi film, The Mothership for Netflix later this year.
