The Coen brothers are synonymous with modern film royalty for their massive filmography. Whether it's Raising Arizona, Fargo, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, No Country for Old Men, Inside Llewyn Davis or the countless others, the brotherly duo are arguably the most creative and accomplished siblings in Hollywood's history when it comes to directors. Joel made his solo debut with The Tragedy of Macbeth starring Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand, but now, Ethan is making his solo debut as well.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Ethan Coen's film will release on September 22, 2023, and will be titled Drive-Away Dolls. Focus Features will distribute the pic that aims towards awards season and boasts a major cast that includes Matt Damon (Air), Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us), Beanie Feldstein (Booksmart), Margaret Qualley (Maid), Colman Domingo (Euphoria), Geraldine Viswanathan (Blockers) and Bill Camp (The Queen's Gambit).

Drive-Away Dolls follows Jamie, an unrestrained free spirit who is in the midst of another breakup with her girlfriend and her more reserved friend Marian, who is need of being shaken up. In search of a fresh start, the two embark on a road trip to Tallahassee but things go sideways as they run into a group of idiotic and incompetent criminals. Qualley and Viswanathan are set to star as the two friends, while there's no word on the rest of the casting yet.

Qualley is best known for her role as Pussycast in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. She's also been nominated for two Emmy awards for her supporting role in Fosse/Verdon followed by her starring role in the Netflix limited series, Maid. Qualley will next star alongside Christopher Abbott in the film, Sanctuary and also has two collaborations set up with Yorgos Lanthimos.

Viswanathan is best known for her role in Blockers, but also is one of the leads of the recently completed series Miracle Workers alongside Steve Buscemi and Daniel Radcliffe. She'll next star in The Beanie Bubble with Sarah Snook, Elizabeth Banks and Zach Galifianakis.
