Official Trailer for 'Class of '09' Showcases Upcoming FBI Series Starring Oscar-nominee Brian Tyree Henry & Kata Mara

by Darian Scalamoni
Brian Tyree Henry (Causeway) had his breakout role on Atlanta for FX, while Kate Mara (The Martian) had one of her most notorious projects appear on the cable network as well with A Teacher. Now, the two accomplished talents will return, this time for an FX on Hulu series, titled Class of '09 which just released its official trailer.

Class of '09 follows the lives of Ashley Poet (Mara) & Tayo Michaels (Tyree Henry) as citizens who are brought into Quantico for a new program in which the FBI is looking to bring in outsiders with savvy backgrounds in their own right, to join the Bureau. Poet is a Nurse, while Michaels works in insurance, and yet, they form a bond along with the rest of their graduating class (hence the title) to navigate a future world that is inhabited by Artificial Intelligence creating many new challenges along the way. The two of them will aim to have justice prevail in a world that is constantly changing, despite what might be standing in their way.

I think it's a great preview for the series that doesn't give too much away in terms of plot. It's a tense thriller with sci-fi elements perfectly placed in a heightened reality of our future technology. I'm excited to see these two team up for the series, as well as another role for Sepidah Moafi, who was terrific in AppleTV+ crime series, Black Bird

Check out the official trailer below for Class of '09. The limited series begins streaming on Hulu on May 10 with a two-episode premiere. Also, check out the cool banner below that showcases how the main characters will age over time throughout the series!
