First Trailer for 'Lucky Hank' Brings Bob Odenkirk Back to AMC as the Most Hated Professor at Railton College

by Darian Scalamoni
Despite just finishing his iconic role of defense attorney Saul Goodman in both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul for AMC, Emmy-nominee Bob Odenkirk is heading back to the cable network for a new series, Lucky Hank. AMC just released their first full-length trailer for the series which gives us a better idea of what to expect the tone and scope of the series to look like.

Lucky Hank is adapted from the novel Straight Man by Richard Russo starring Odenkirk as William Henry "Hank" Devereaux Jr., an English chair for his place of employment, the underfunded and by all accounts mediocre, Railton College. He's annoyed by his entitled students, constantly frustrated by the lack of camaraderie amongst his colleagues and his discontent by life itself. Though Hank is an unlikely leader of the English department at the University, many of his issues stem from his unresolved issues with his father which leads him to take it out on anyone around him.

Odenkirk leads a sturdy ensemble cast that also includes Mireille Enos (World War Z, Hanna) as his levelheaded wife Lily, who is emotionally grounded but as her husband starts to spiral, she begins to question the path that she's on in her own life. Enos and Odenkirk are joined by Sara Amini, Diedrich Bader, Suzanne Cryer, Olivia Scott Welch, Oscar Nunez and Cedric Yarbrough in the series. Additionally, the show is co-showrun by Aaron Zellman (The Killing) and Paul Lieberstein (The Office).

Check out the first trailer below for Lucky Hank! The series begins airing on AMC on Sunday, March 19 and will also be available to stream on AMC+ on the same night.
