Alexandra Shipp Joins R-Rated Romantic Comedy with Glen Powell & Sydney Sweeney

    One month ago, we reported that Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney would be starring in a currently untitled R-rated romantic comedy from Sony Pictures. Though we still are awaiting a title for the film, we do have updated news of an additional cast member joining the fray. 

    According to an exclusive from Deadline, Alexandra Shipp (X-Men: Apocalypse, tick, tick...BOOM!) has been cast in the film. The film is to be scripted and directed by Will Gluck (Easy A, Friends with Benefits). Filming is expected to start in just a few weeks while Sony finishes surrounding the stars with a supporting ensemble. 

    Alexandra Shipp most recently appeared in tick, tick...BOOM!, Lin-Manuel Miranda's directorial debut for Netflix as Jonathan Larson's love interest. Next, she'll star in Barbie alongside the massive cast that includes Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling and Will Ferrell to name a few.
