Beloved AppleTV+ Comedy Series 'Ted Lasso' Makes Us All Believe in Its Comeback, Sets March 15th Release Date for Season 3
The short teaser showcases the series' terrific ensemble of actors except for Nathan who had a major heel turn within the second season which did not sit well with fans. He became loathed and though the second season has garnered awards similar to its debut effort, it wasn't as well liked as the overly feel good first season of the streaming series. The series follows a fictional Premier League team, AFC Richmond led by its rambunctious, hilarious and excessively positive head coach, the titular Ted Lasso.
Led by Emmy-winner and SNL alum Jason Sudeikis, the third season will cover the newly promoted AFC Richmond which faces ridicule as media predictions pegs them as surefire losers within the Premier League. With Nate (Nick Mohammed) leaving the organization to join West Ham United, former all-star player Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) joins other assistant coach Beard (Brendan Hunt) to try and accomplish their dreams. Amidst all of this, Ted is dealing with personal issues at home, Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) is focused on defeating Rupert and Keeley (Juno Temple) navigates being the boss of her own PR agency.
Sudeikis, Hunt, Bill Lawrence & Joe Kelly developed the idea for a show revolving around Ted Lasso after his character was created for sketches for NBC Sports Premier League promotional material. The show instantly became a hit being the biggest for AppleTV+ since the streamer launched in November 2019.
Check out the short teaser below for the third season of Ted Lasso. The series returns to AppleTV+ on March 15.
