First Trailer for 'Boston' Strangler' Reveals Hulu's True Crime Story Led by Keira Knightley and Carrie Coon
Boston Strangler tells the true story of a journalist named Loretta McLaughlin played by Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean, Atonement) who discovers a string of murders that leads her to believe that there is a serial killer on the loose in Boston during the 1960s. When McLaughlin brings this up to her editor-in-chief played by Chris Cooper (Adaptation, August: Osage County), he tells her to stay in her lane as a lifestyle reporter, however, when McLaughlin teams with another female journalist Jean Cole, they can no longer ignore the major issue at hand. Cole is played by The Leftovers star Carrie Coon and the two women work together to try and take down the criminal at hand for this disgusting and heinous murder spree.
The movie features a terrific ensemble that in addition to the aforementioned performers also stars Alessandro Nivola, Bill Camp, David Dastmalchian and Rory Cochrane. The film is written and directed by Matt Ruskin (Crown Heights) which centers around these two courageous women overcoming gender norms through tenacity and rigor to have the unjust brought to light.
