One of the most unique creatives right now is Misha Green who previously created television series Underground for WGN America and the supernatural horror series Lovecraft Country for HBO. She's been one of the hottest writers in Hollywood over the years with a Netflix film in the can as well. Now, according to a report from Deadline, Green will be making her feature film directorial debut with Sunflower. Sunflower will reunite Green with her lead in both series she created in Jurnee Smollett (Birds of Prey, Lovecraft Country) who leads the film. The movie follows two women who struggle to escape from a deranged college professor's sunflower farm after being held hostage. Sunflower will be produced by Lionsgate and is aiming to film this Summer.
Green's next film is The Mother for Netflix, which she co-wrote and produced for Netflix that stars Jennifer Lopez as an assassin who comes out of hiding to protect her daughter who she previously abandoned. Smollett will next appear in the drama, The Burial opposite Jamie Foxx and Tommy Lee Jones. In 2022, she acted in two Netflix films, Lou and Spiderhead.
