Robert Pattinson, Amy Adams & Robert Downey Jr. Set to Lead Adam McKay's Next Feature 'Average Height, Average Build'

It's been a couple years since we've seen anything from the mind of Adam McKay (The Big Short, Vice) following his Netflix release Don't Look Up. Now, he's building up yet another starry cast for his next movie titled Average Height, Average Build

According to a report from Deadline, Robert Pattinson (The Batman, Twilight), Amy Adams (Arrival, Enchanted), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man, Sherlock Holmes), Forest Whitaker (Black Panther, The Last King of Scotland) and Danielle Deadwyler (Till, The Harder They Fall) will lead McKay's upcoming comedy with production aiming to start in either late Summer or early Fall. Much like McKay's other projects, Average Height, Average Build is crafted as a black comedy giving plenty of room for the acting talent to play around in their new roles.

Within the film, Pattinson will play a serial killer who comes into the world of politics, working alongside a lobbyist (Adams) that will change laws that allow him to get away with murder more easily. Downey Jr. will play a retired police officer who won't give up in trying to solve the murders, as Pattinson prevents him from discovering the truth despite his character's retirement from law enforcement. McKay will produce, write the script and direct. The project will also reunite the writer-director with Amy Adams, who starred in his Dick Cheney biopic Vice, as his wife, Lynne Cheney which earned her an Oscar nomination.

Pattinson is coming off a major big budget role leading the way in The Batman last year. Additionally, he'll star in Bong Joon Ho's upcoming sci-fi thriller Mickey 17. Adams reprised her role as Giselle in Disney+ film Disenchanted, before heading back to more serious fare with her upcoming film Nightbitch from A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood director Marielle Heller. We had just announced yesterday that Downey Jr. is set to star in Vertigo for Steven Knight and Paramount.

Whitaker has been seen mostly in television over the last few years. He can currently be seen in environmental anthology series Extrapolations on AppleTV+. He also reprised his role as Saw Gerrera in Andor within the Star Wars universe. He currently stars in MGM+ series, The Godfather of Harlem as well. The Oscar-winning actor is set for a massive 2023 with roles in the George Foreman biopic, Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis and Havoc with Tom Hardy from The Raid franchise architect, Gareth Evans.

Meanwhile, Deadwyler just starred in Till which earned her a BAFTA nomination. Additionally, she's primed for more breakout roles in upcoming series like A24's horror show, I Saw the TV Glow as well as J.J. Abrams' Demimonde. She'll also appear in Netflix's Carry-On with Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman later this year.
