Jessica Chastain to Lead AppleTV+ Limited Series, 'The Savant

    Oscar-winning actress Jessica Chastain (The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Zero Dark Thirty) had her first role on television recently with George & Tammy. Now, she's trading in the music industry to take down bigots online with a limited series for AppleTV+.

    Deadline reports that Chastain will lead The Savant where she'll lead as a top-secret investigator who infiltrates online hate groups in order to take down some of the most violent men in the country. The series is based on a true story that was published in Cosmopolitan magazine by Andrea Stanley, who will consult on the series. Chastain will produce under her Freckle Films production company, while Melissa James Gibson (Anatomy of a Scandal) will write and direct the series. 

    Chastain not only starred in George & Tammy in 2022, but also had a small role in James Gray's Armageddon Time and starred in The Good Nurse with Eddie Redmayne for Netflix. She's attached to star in Memory with Peter Sarsgaard, Merritt Wever and Elsie Fisher, as well as Mothers' Instinct alongside fellow award-winning actress Anne Hathaway. Chastain has also been attached for years to lead the video game adaptation The Division for Netflix with Jake Gyllenhaal.
