First Teaser for Paramount+ Series 'Fatal Attraction' Reveals the Fresh Take on a Beloved Cult Film Based Around Love and Obsession

by Darian Scalamoni
While there may be many remakes, retellings and sequels hitting theaters as of late, some classics are being expanded to television and streaming. One such project is Paramount+'s new take on Fatal Attraction and they just unveiled the first teaser trailer for the series which we have for you below.

Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex, Cloverfield) and Joshua Jackson (The Affair, Dr. Death) star in the roles originally portrayed by Glenn Close and Michael Douglas respectively from the 1987 classic romantic thriller that follows the same beats as the movie. Within the short teaser, we get introduced to Dan Gallagher (Jackson) who is a successful lawyer and happily married to his wife, Beth (played by Amanda Peet). However, as the young, beautiful Alex Forest (Caplan) approaches him, they engage in an affair whilst on a business trip. For Dan, it seems that the fling would be a one-off adventurous engagement, but on the contrary, Alex feels differently and begins to stalk Dan putting his marriage and life at risk.

The original film was a major box-office hit while also receiving six Oscar nominations including Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Actress for Glenn Close. The series looks to update the story to reflect modern sensibilities regarding mental health and the psychology of the crux of the story so I'm curious to see how showrunner Alexandra Cunningham handles the material. Having said that, Cunningham has plenty of experience surrounding complex characters and thrillers in particular, formerly working on shows such as Bates Motel and Dirty John

Check out the first teaser for Paramount+ series Fatal Attraction. The series stars Caplan, Jackson, Peet, Alyssa Jirrels, Toby Huss, Reno Wilson and Brian Goodman. Fatal Attraction begins streaming with a two-episode premiere on April 30 on Paramount+.
