After
years of rumors and developments about a remake for the 1994 Brandon Lee led
film The Crow, today, we have news on
who will have the task of playing the title role. According to Indiewire,
Jason Momoa, who is best known for playing Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones and will play Aquaman in the DCEU, is in talks to
lead the film.
The
original film is a cult classic and is also serves as a memorial type of film
due to the death of star, Brandon Lee who was killed during production when a
gun used in a scene fired a defective blank. Many believe, due to conspiracy
theories, that the death of Lee was more controversial especially because there
is similar controversy surrounding the death of his father, martial artist and
icon, Bruce Lee.
The
film reboot has been in development since 2008 with multiple directors and
stars attached but Momoa seems like a complete change from the former rumored
stars. I loved him on Game of Thrones and so far, what I saw of him as Aquaman
in the Justice League trailer, he
seems to be the right guy to get this project moving forward. Corin Hardy (The Hallow) is set to direct the reboot
that is currently in development.
