It was only about a month
ago here at Cinema Wave that we published an article about an upcoming film Chaos Walking based on a YA novel.
Today, according to Collider,
we have news that Daisy Ridley who led Star
Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens will star in the potential franchise.
I was excited for this
film first and foremost for the plot as Chaos
Walking takes place in a world where all living creatures can hear other’s
thoughts through images, words and sounds called “Noise. It’s definitely an
interesting premise to say the least and with a fresh, young and talented
actress like Daisy Ridley leading it, this absolutely has potential to spawn
multiple films.
As if this project can’t
get more exciting, Charlie Kaufman (Eternal
Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Anomalisa)
will write the adaptation and Doug Liman (Edge
of Tomorrow, Mr. and Mrs. Smith)
will direct. Ridley recently wrapped filming on Star Wars Episode VIII and also recently joined the Hamlet
reimagining, Ophelia with Naomi
Watts. Also, she has joined the war drama, The
Lost Wife.
Ridley is expected to
play main character Viola Eade in Chaos
Walking here.
Check out our first article for Chaos Walking and let us know if you’re excited
for this project.
