Warner
Bros. and DC Films have had a rough year. Batman
v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide
Squad have been underwhelming movies in the eyes of critics and even some
of the diehard fans of these properties, I am on that side as I was disappointed
with both movies especially because I was such a big fan of 2011’s Man of Steel
directed by Zack Snyder who also directed BvS.
Well, according to Collider, it
seems what Warner Bros. has now put Man
of Steel 2 in active development.
It is
not known at this time what the major details of the potential film will be but
it’s known that it is a top priority for the studio. Also, with this
announcement, there is no indication whether or not Snyder will be back to
direct the sequel.
This
is huge news and news that I am very excited about. I am not really a fan of
Snyder but as I said previously, I’m a big fan of Man of Steel and even Watchmen
is a quality film in my opinion. It seemed that this film was a long way from
happening if it was even going to happen at all because of the schedule already
set for the DCEU going forward with films like Wonder Woman, Justice League,
The Flash, Aquaman and The Batman
coming soon. It was rumored at one point that George Miller (Mad Max: Fury Road) would direct the
sequel but that hasn’t been confirmed. One thing we know for sure is that Man of Steel 2 will be released AFTER
Ben Affleck’s directed The Batman.
