With
tons of animated classics going live-action for Disney it was inevitable that
eventually we would see another animated tale follow down the same path.
According to Collider,
Curious George will be adapted as a
live-action film directed by Andrew Adamson (Shrek, The Chronicles of
Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe).
Curious George came to life back in 1941
in books written by Margret and H.A. Rey. The legendary monkey has since been
featured in cartoons and an animated movie from Universal but seeing him in
live-action is an exciting new look for George. We’ve seen it work before, very
recently with Paddington which I loved if the studio makes George a CG
character with other actors surrounding.
If
you don’t know the story, Curious George
follows a monkey who was taken from his home in Africa by The Man With the
Yellow Hat to live with him in a big city. Once he’s there, he gets into a
bunch of shenanigans and hijinks, as his nickname suggests.
I’m
excited for this because I love the Curious
George character and with someone like Adamson at the helm who directed the
first two Shrek films, I’m excited to see what he can do with this classic
property. What do you guys think? Comment below and have your voice heard!
