Leonardo
DiCaprio has been racking up potential projects ever since his Oscar win about
a year ago for his performance in The
Revenant. Well according to The
Playlist, we can add another project to his slate as DiCaprio is set to
star and produce in an adaptation of Stephen Talty’s upcoming book, The Black Hand.
The
book, which has yet to be released is based on a true story and follows a cop
from New York City in the beginning of the 20th century trying to
take down the gangsters from The Black Hand. Leo will play the lead, Joseph
Petrosino in what’s being described as an “Italian Sherlock Holmes”. It sure
sounds like a different project for the Oscar-winner and no matter what he
stars in next, I’ll be first in line to see him dominate on screen. Currently,
there is no screenwriter or director attached yet so this could take a little
while to get in front of cameras.
DiCaprio
has also been attached to a multitude of other films in recent months including
a Sam Phillips biopic, The Devil in the
White City that could reunite him with Martin Scorsese and The Crowded Room in which Leo has been
attached for almost a year now where he’d play a man who develops 24 separate
personalities, similar to the recent M. Night Shyamalan film, Split.
