It’s
not uncommon with all the amazing television around today that most minds in
the TV business are headed to feature filmmaking. Noah Hawley, the creator of
FX series’ Fargo and Legion has joined the ranks as The
Playlist reports that Hawley will direct Reese Witherspoon in the sci-fi
film, Pale Blue Dot. Witherspoon will
also produce the film under her Type A Films production company.
Hawley
has risen to become one of the hottest minds in all of TV after breaking out
with Fargo, the spinoff series based
in the same vein and style as the Coen brothers classic film from 1995 of the
same name. Since then, Hawley has released the new FX series, Legion which is based on an X-Men comic
following the mutant named David Haller. Pale
Blue Dot will tell the story of an astronaut who returns home and then quickly
loses grip of reality when dealing with the after-effects.
Hawley
is currently filming Season 3 of Fargo
that will star Ewan McGregor, Carrie Coon, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Michael
Stuhlbarg. Witherspoon stars in the upcoming HBO mini-series, Big Little Lies along with Nicole Kidman
and Shailene Woodley. She’ll also star in the drama, Home Again which is in post-production with Michael Sheen and Lake
Bell before portraying Mrs. Whatsit in Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle in Time for Disney.
