It
seems that the horror genre is getting a boost as of late with the last few
years providing some fantastic films. Some of those include Don’t Breathe, Lights Out and even as recent as last month with M. Night Shyamalan’s
Split. In addition to that, A24 is
rapidly becoming one of the best production companies in the world. They’ve
already distributed some horror films in the past like The Witch but now they’ll be distributing Trey Edward Shults’ second
feature film, It Comes at Night.
Shults’ first film, Krisha was also
produced by A24 and now we have a teaser trailer for his sophomore effort
behind the camera.
It Comes at Night will follow a man who
is protecting his family from evil outside his door; it seems like a simple
enough premise but the trailer is truly terrifying and has me amped for this
movie. Shults is also upping his cast with star power as Joel Edgerton stars in
the film. Though it’s hard to understand and grasp fully what is going on in
the trailer, it all looks to have you on the edge of your seat and will be
perfect for its late summer release date.
Check
out the teaser for It Comes at Night
below! The movie stars Edgerton, Riley Keough, Christopher Abbott and Carmen
Ejogo and will open in theaters on August 25th.
