Dan Gilroy catapulted to the top of Hollywood after his directorial debut Nightcrawler, that was one of the best films of 2014. Gilroy was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for the movie as well but many have been anticipating his sophomore feature, Inner City. We wrote back in August that Denzel Washington would star in the film but now we have another star attached to join him as well. According to Slash Film, Colin Farrell is in talks to join Washington in the legal thriller.

Inner City is set in LA as Washington plays Roman J. Israel, an attorney who begins to learn that his new law firm has a darker past than he originally understood. Farrell would play the money hungry attorney that hires Israel. Gilroy’s film will begin shooting in March. I would love to see this happening as I feel that Farrell and Washington will have incredible chemistry on screen and with Gilroy penning the script, my anticipation is through the roof.

Farrell is coming off of one of his biggest years ever as an actor with a role in the arthouse indie film, The Lobster that garnered him awards buzz and even a Golden Globe nomination. Also, he played the antagonist in the Harry Potter-spinoff, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. He’s set to appear in Sofia Coppola’s remake of The Beguiled this year as well as the next film from Yorgos Lanthimos, who directed him in The Lobster, The Killing of a Sacred Deer.
