Following
her return to a prominent big-screen role in Halloween, Jamie Lee Curtis is
being snatched up around Hollywood for parts. According to Collider, Curtis will join the already terrific ensemble of Knives Out.
The
film, which is set to be directed by Star
Wars: The Last Jedi director, Rian Johnson has been described as a crime
film “in the vein of an Agatha Christie novel” though other details are meager.
Curtis is just another name added amongst Chris Evans, Daniel Craig, Lakeith
Stanfield, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson and Ana de Armas for the film.
This
is amazing news considering Curtis had a multitude of unforgettable roles
earlier in her career but since then, we haven’t heard much of her. She was
relegated to turns in TV shows like Scream
Queens and New Girl until her
career was revived by David Gordon Green reprising her iconic role as Laurie
Strode.
Hopefully
this is a sign that actresses over the age of 30 will begin to receive roles
later in their careers that are meaningful that will pair them with terrific
filmmakers. Filming for Knives Out
begins in November so expect an Oscar-type release date in 2019 for the crime
flick.
