When
talking comedy, it’s hard not to think about Kevin Hart, who has been
dominating the comedy realm for years now. However, does he have the same star
power as another iconic black comedian, Chris Rock? Well that could be debated
but for now, they will be working together.
According
to The Playlist, Rock will step behind
the camera to direct Hart in the comedy, Co-Parenting. This is Rock’s second
effort directing after his first feature, Top
Five was released in 2014. The film stars Hart as a stay-at-home father who
is trying to figure out his life when his CEO wife kicks him out of the house.
He must now partake in a custody battle and divorce with her to try to win his
kids back.
It
sounds like a pretty paint-by-numbers comedy but seeing Rock attached has me a
little bit more interested. A lot of Hart’s recent work hasn’t done it for me as
it seems to be a bit of oversaturation for the comedian. He’ll be seen on
screen next with his first dramatic role in The
Upside, the English-language remake of the French film, The Intouchables.
Rock
hasn’t been in the spotlight for years but has a very intriguing role upcoming
as he’s set to star in the upcoming season of FX drama, Fargo. There is no word yet on when Co-Parenting will be shooting but we’ll be sure to keep you
updated.
