As
many continue to speculate what the next Avengers
film’s title will be, there is another young star joining the already huge
ensemble. According to The HollywoodReporter, Katherine Langford has been cast in the film. Marvel Studios
continues to remain hushed on any character details.
Langford
is best known for her breakout, Golden Globe-nominated role in the Netflix
drama, 13 Reasons Why as Hannah Baker,
a high school student who leaves behind a series of tapes following her
suicide. She appeared in the first two seasons of the show but will not return
for the third.
Netflix
is keeping her in the fold however as she’s set to star in their upcoming series, Cursed from the creator of Sin City, Frank Miller. Though Langford’s
role on 13 Reasons Why made her a household name, joining Marvel’s ranks and
more so, the Disney family is a big deal for any actor.
I’m
excited to hear who Langford will be playing in the currently untitled Avengers film and some rumors have her potentially
learning from Jeremy Renner’s, Hawkeye, who was noticeably absent from Infinity War.
Avengers 4 opens in theaters on May 3rd,
2019 and will be the fourth Marvel movie directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. The
Russo brothers previously directed Captain
America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War; the latter
grossed more than $2 billion at the box office.
