It’s
hard to keep up with all the different outlets for television nowadays. Between
Netflix, Hulu and Amazon already solidifying themselves amongst the top with
Disney and Time Warner having some of their own streaming services upcoming,
there is more television than ever. Another service that I’m interested in but
have yet to subscribe is CBS All Access. They have their big-time franchise
vehicle with Star Trek Discovery as
well as some other interesting shows on the horizon but the show that I’m most
interested in is their reboot of The
Twilight Zone.
According
to Deadline, Adam Scott has been cast
in the Nightmare at 30,000 Feet remake
episode of the series hosted and narrated by Jordan Peele. The original episode
of the same name starred William Shatner and showcased his encounter with an
airborne gremlin that was only visible to him. Scott is the second actor
announced to appear in the series as Sanaa Lathan will star in the episode
titled, Rewind.
Scott
is best known for his roles on television and film respectively as Ben Wyatt in
NBC’s Parks and Recreation and Derek
in the film, Step Brothers. He’s also
appeared recently on TV in the shows Big
Little Lies, The Good Place and Ghosted.
The Twilight Zone has just recently
begun filming and is in association with Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions which
was behind his Oscar-nominated film, Get
Out. Simon Kinberg is also attached as an executive producer for the new
iteration of the classic sci-fi series.
The original
The Twilight Zone aired from
1959-1964 and went for 5 seasons. As soon as more casting announcements are
made for the rebooted series which premieres in 2019, we’ll be sure to provide
you with the news!
