It’s always unfortunate when a beloved television show gets cancelled but in a world where there’s tons of networks and streaming services, there is hope that shows could be continued at different homes. According to Collider, Netflix has cancelled the true crime mockumentary series, American Vandal after two seasons. The show premiered just last year after the success of shows on the streaming service such as Making a Murderer.

The show’s rookie season showcased a pair of high school students who were trying to uncover the guilty party behind a bunch of dicks being painted on cars in the school parking lot. The second season which recently premiered on Netflix turned its attention to a culprit named “The Turd Burglar.”

Netflix is essentially cleaning house with Vandal joining the ranks of the Marvel series, Iron Fist and Luke Cage due to the fact that these are shows that are not owned outright by the service. American Vandal is actually a CBS TV Studios production so there is potential that if the show gets a third season, it could end up on CBS’ own streaming service, CBS All Access. According to other outlets, CBS TV Studios has been receiving plenty of calls to revive the series on another network so it’s not even a guarantee that the show isn’t “lent out” to another network.

I’m a huge fan of this show due to its clever delivery of hilariously insane offenses in the same vein as other procedural true crime shows. Here’s hoping that American Vandal finds a new home and we continue to see lewd terrors across fictional schools.
