Nothing
gets me more excited than seeing writer/director team ups in Hollywood that are
dream collaborations and I think we’re getting one of those with this next
story. According to Deadline,
James Mangold (Logan, Walk the Line)
will direct Disorder, a remake of the
2015 French film. He’ll work from a Taylor Sheridan script (Hell or High Water, Sicario).
The
original movie that starred Matthias Schoenaerts and Diane Kruger followed an
ex-soldier who suffered from PTSD hired to protect a wife and child of a
wealthy Lebanese businessman. It sounds like a perfect film for both of them to
work out, especially together, and luckily with the talent attached, it seems
it could be a very good remake.
James
Mangold is coming off of arguably his best movie ever with Logan and has a 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea remake as
well as a Joe Namath biopic in the works as well. Taylor Sheridan is as busy as
anyone in the industry with his directorial debut, Wind River set to be released in August. He’s also writing Soldado, the sequel to Sicario and Yellowstone for Paramount Network which will star Kevin Costner.
