Chandor (Margin Call, A Most Violent Year)
has been one of the most underrated directors in Hollywood over the last five
years or so and has worked with tons of great actors on his projects. Now it
seems he’s adding some high-profile names to his next movie as well. According
to Indiewire,
Tom Hardy and Channing Tatum are in talks to join Chandor’s next
action/thriller Triple Frontier.
Triple Frontier takes place in a border
zone where the Iguazu and Parana rivers cross between Argentina, Paraguay and
Brazil. The area is known to have tons of organized crime while also being hard
to govern. This sounds a lot like that scene in Sicario, if you haven’t seen that fantastic movie, go see it and
you’ll know what I’m talking about but these two actors are great talents and
if they sign on it could be incredibly intriguing. Indiewire also reports that
the feature will be a large ensemble similar to Chandor’s previous film Margin Call.
Tatum
is set to star in another ensemble film, Logan
Lucky that will be directed by Steven Soderbergh. He’ll also have a role in
the highly-anticipated sequel, Kingsman:
The Golden Circle. As for Hardy, his new television series, Taboo starts on FX on January 10th
and he also has a role in Christopher Nolan’s WWII drama, Dunkirk.
