Dwayne
Johnson has consistently been one of the busiest people in Hollywood. After
massive successes in 2016 like Central
Intelligence, the recently Oscar-nominated Moana and Season 2 of HBO’s Ballers,
he has an even busier slate in the upcoming years. One of those projects that
is in pre-production is Rampage. The
movie is based on the 1980s video game that featured a gorilla, crocodile and
wolf that wreak havoc on North American cities and now we have another casting
announcement for the film. According to The
Tracking Board, Naomie Harris is set to join the cast of Rampage.
Johnson
will play an animal-loving hero who is the world’s only hope when Harris tries
to take out these large animals as a geneticist with a moral streak. Harris is
coming off of Moonlight, for which
she was just nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Brad
Peyton (San Andreas, Journey 2: The
Mysterious Island) is set to reunite with Dwayne Johnson and direct the
video game adaptation.
This
will be Harris’ first project post-Moonlight
but she is also attached to Andy Serkis’ live-action Jungle Book, not to be confused with 2016’s The Jungle Book that was directed by Jon Favreau. Hopefully soon,
we’ll be getting more information and casting news for Rampage!
