Moonlight is increasingly making best of
lists as we move on at the start of 2017, and one of the stars is accumulating more
high profile projects by the day. According to THR,
Trevante Rhodes has signed on to star The Predator alongside Boyd Holbrook and
Olivia Munn.
The
reboot is set to be directed by Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Iron Man 3) and he’s said in previous
interviews that the film will be “scary, funny and wondrous”. I haven’t seen
Moonlight yet so its hard for me to judge his casting but the rest of the cast
just seems average to me. Holbrook has a big role on the horizon as he’s
playing the villain in Logan, though
Munn has been given chances to shine and the only thing I’ve ever liked her in
was The Newsroom. Rhodes is set to
play the best friend of Holbrook’s character and other than knowing that they
will play ex-Marines that battle the titular character, there isn’t much known
about the story.
Rhodes
is currently filming Horse Soldiers
alongside Chris Hemsworth and Michael Shannon and also has a role in Terrence
Malick’s upcoming Song to Song that
we previewed on the site just a few days ago. The Predator is set to be released everywhere on February 9th,
2018.
