Sylvester
Stallone had a big year in 2015 when he co-starred and was nominated for an
Academy Award for his performance as the beloved character Rocky Balboa in the
movie, Creed. Since then it seems
that he’s stayed relatively quiet but he is set to make his Marvel debut as he
has a role in the upcoming Guardians of
the Galaxy Vol. 2. Now he’s eyeing a project that sounds like it could be
another awards worthy film. According to Deadline,
Stallone will direct and star in Tough as
They Come, based on the bestselling memoir of the same name. Adam Driver is
also set to co-star in the movie.
The movie
will chronicle inspirational true-life story of United States Army Staff
Sergaent Travis Mills, who survived a quadruple amputation from an injury on
the battlefield. That role will be played by Driver, while Sylvester Stallone
will be playing Mills’ father-in-law, Craig Buck. The heart of the story will
be the relationship between the two, and honestly, this has moved to the top of
my list as one of my most anticipated. Stallone is finally picking some great
projects and Driver has broken out since his role as Kylo Ren in Star Wars – The Force Awakens.
In
addition to Guardians, Stallone is
also currently working out to film The
Expendables 4 for a 2018 release. While Driver has the upcoming Martin
Scorsese film, Silence coming up,
along with Steven Soderbergh’s Logan
Lucky. Then, there’s a little movie coming out at the end of the year that takes
place in a galaxy far, far away as well where he reprises his role as Kylo Ren.
