'(500) Days of Summer' Director Marc Webb's Newest Film 'Gifted' First Look

            It’s been a little while since Marc Webb (500) Days of Summer, The Amazing Spider-Man) has done a smaller movie but The Playlist has the first look at his latest effort titled Gifted. The film is about a man who tries to raise the brilliant young daughter of his dead sister. Starring Chris Evans, McKenna Grace, Jenny Slate and Oscar-winner Octavia Spencer.

            The full synopsis for the movie is as follows: Frank Adler (Evans) is a single man trying to raise a child prodigy – his spirited young niece Mary (McKenna Grace) – in a coastal town in Florida. Frank’s plans for a normal school life for Mary are foiled when the young girl’s mathematical abilities come to the attention of Frank’s mother who threatens to separate Frank and Mary. Jenny Slate is Mary’s teacher, Bonnie, a young woman whose concern for her student develops into a connection with her uncle as well.

            Being a huge fan of (500) Days of Summer, I’m extremely excited about the potential this project has. Webb does such a great job showcasing romance as well; Evans and Slate actually became a couple shortly after this movie was done with production.
