It
wasn’t long ago that we reported that Jake Gyllenhaal had signed on to the
movie adaptation of the popular video game, The
Division. Today, according to Collider,
we have news on another Academy Award nominated actress Jessica Chastain as she
enters talks to join the film.
Jessica
Chastain is one of the most talented actresses in Hollywood and she’s not
unknown to war films. She was nominated for Best Actress at the Oscars just a
few years ago for Zero Dark Thirty. The
Division is set in New York City during the aftermath of a smallpox
pandemic, and the player portrays an agent of the Strategic Homeland Division
who is tasked with helping to rebuild the Division’s operations in a
near-deserted and crime-riddled Manhattan.
Chastain
will be seen next in the gun lobby drama Miss
Sloane in December and also, stars in the bestseller adaptation The Zookeeper’s Wife in March. The most
exciting potential project for Chastain though is the lead role in Aaron Sorkin’s
directorial debut, Molly’s Game
alongside Idris Elba. We are still awaiting details on a writer and director
for the Ubisoft video game adaptation, who would you want t helm this new video
game movie?
