With
the current nature of the addicting mobile game Pokemon Go, it seemed it would be only days until a live action Pokemon movie would be announced.
Collider reports that there is currently a bidding war for the rights to make
this movie a reality and China’s Legendary Pictures is the frontrunner.
Legendary is responsible for bringing movies like Pacific Rim, Warcraft and
The Dark Knight to the big screen so
this would be a good home for the legendary Nintendo property.
Back
in April, it was reported that Sony and Warner Bros. were also interested in
the ultra-popular franchise but Legendary has emerged out in front. Though the
deal is not done officially yet, it seems inevitable that sometime soon we will
see this deal be hashed out and finished.
This
would be a huge win for Pokemon as
well as Nintendo who hasn’t had one of their properties adapted into a
Hollywood movie since the disaster of a movie, Super Mario Bros. How do you guys feel about a live-action Pokemon movie? Are you excited? Comment
