It’s
been a while since Mel Gibson has stepped behind the camera and captivated
audiences. The man behind the films Braveheart,
The Passion of the Christ and Apocalypto has finally released the
first trailer for his upcoming war drama, Hacksaw
Ridge.
The
biographical movie follows the story of a WWII American Army Medic Desmond T.
Doss (played by Andrew Garfield), who served during the Battle of Okinawa,
refuses to kill people and becomes the first Conscientious Objector in American
history to be awarded the Medal of Honor. Heavy stuff for a guy who is known by
major audiences as the most recent attempt at Spider-Man before Marvel Studios
got their hands back on the property.
This
won’t be the first film for Garfield though that could be a potential
Oscar-type of role. He was fantastic in The
Social Network as well as last year’s 99
Homes. Hacksaw Ridge is set to be
released in theaters on November 6th. The film also stars Teresa
Palmer, Sam Worthington, Vince Vaughn and Hugo Weaving and is directed by
Academy Award winner, Mel Gibson.
I
absolutely loved how gritty this trailer was, check it out below!
