Woody
Harrelson is one of our most underrated actors and brings spectacle to every
performance he’s done; according to The
Playlist, Harrelson will join legendary director Rob Reiner for his new
film Shock and Awe. Reiner hasn’t had
a box office hit since the 1990s and his most recent string of films include Indies
that just have mostly been misfires. Luckily though for Reiner, his next film
is titled LBJ and stars Harrelson as
Lyndon B. Johnson. Harrelson must’ve had a great time with the director and
that is why he’s teaming up with him once again.
Shock and Awe is being written by the
same writer as LBJ, Joey Hartstone
and the film will follow a group of war journalists during the Iraq war who
question the Bush administration’s position that Saddam Hussein is sitting on a
cache of weapons of mass destruction. The premise sounds extremely promising
and Harrelson also joins James Marsden in the initial casting for this film. It
sounds like it could even be the next Spotlight
which won Best Picture at this past year’s Academy Awards.
Harrelson
will be seen this year in LBJ as well
as indie flicks, Wilson and The Edge of Seventeen. He’s also set to
appear in four high profile movies in 2017 including The Glass Castle alongside Brie Larson and War for the Planet of the Apes.
