Sony
has just released a new trailer for Edgar Wright’s (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Shaun of the Dead) next movie which
might take the cake for most original movie of the year. We have that trailer
here for you now for the adrenaline pumping, musical crime film titled Baby Driver.
Baby Driver follows Ansel Elgort as a
getaway driver named Baby who suffers from a hearing impairment that requires
him to listen to music to drown out the ringing in his ears. He’s employed by a
crime boss played by the amazing, Kevin Spacey but decides he wants to split
after falling for a local waitress. The trailers have used music to drive (no
pun intended) the story to the audience and it’s worked tremendously thus far.
The movie has gotten rave reviews out of SXSW, so much so, that Sony has pushed
the movie’s release date from August to June. It looks like it will dazzle
audiences and cinephiles alike and I for one, am one of those excited
moviegoers.
What’d
you guys think of the trailer? Are you excited for Edgar Wright’s first film
since the ending of his Cornetto trilogy? Comment below and let us know your
thoughts.
